RHDV2 has been found to be spreading in Southern California since 2020. Deceased domestic rabbits in San Mateo County have been found with the disease in Feb 2024. The most recently reported RHDV2 cases in California can be seen on the California Department of Food and Agriculture (CDFA) website here for domestic rabbits and the California Department of Fish and Wildlife (CDFW) here for wild rabbits.

All of our boarding requests will now require the rabbits to be up-to-date on their RHDV2 vaccinations for their stay. See our Rates & Services page for timeline details. Rabbits that are unable to be vaccinated appropriately before their planned arrival will not be accepted for boarding. Please note that first-time Medgene vaccinations require two doses, regardless of previous vaccination status.

Please inquire with your current rabbit veterinary clinic to see if they may have obtained a supply of an RHDV2 vaccine. Many of the following veterinary clinics may not be accepting new clients or will require at least 2-3 weeks before an appointment is available for a new client. Some clinics may also only have limited supplies. Please book appointments early if you are seeking boarding for an upcoming trip.

Email boarding@ssbunny.com with updates if there are any clinics you would like to add to the document or if any currently shared clinics are not vaccinating for RHDV2 anymore.
